9 Nature | Trout is AllPosted By:Celine
There's just something about flyfishing I love. It's not something I have ever done, nor do I live in an area particularly conducive to it, but it's a pasttime I admire. There's a simplicity there and yet incredible technicality too. It feels so pure, and since the best flyfishing is usually in the heartland of untouched wilderness, there's a connectedness too. This video is shot in the most beautiful light, and whether you like to fish or not, simply watching the enjoyment against such a stunning backdrop will make you smile.

7 Best of Pure Green | Vegetarian LasagnaPosted By:Jonathan
This Best of Pure Green post is dedicated to possibly one of Jonathan and my favourite dishes— vegetarian lasagna. When Jonathan creates a recipe he tend to 'go big or go home', especially when it comes to comfort food. You'll find this lasagna packed with every type of vegetable possible making it hearty and substantial. Jonathan likes to serve it with his mother's sweet pickles. This recipe makes a decent size batch so we suggest cutting the leftovers into single servings and freezing them for an easy meal.

6 Vintage | E.A. SeguyPosted By:Celine
A few weeks ago we posted about John James Audubon and as fans of both vintage and botanical prints we thought it would be neat to follow up with a piece on the lesser known E.A. Séguy, a Parisian painter and entomologist whose work is made all the more interesting as he is somewhat shrouded in mystery. Details on the painters life and work and cloudy at best, with deliberation even on his name and date of birth/death, which happens to be relatively recent at sometime in the 1980's. Regardless, he is best known for a series of work he produced in the 1920's 'Papillons' and 'Insectes' - from which we gathered the shown works for this post.

5 Home | Mid-Century LEEDPosted By:Celine
We were delighted to receive this submission from California architectural firm Carver + Schicketanz. Originally designed and constructed by architect John Gamble in 1965, rather than tear down the aim was to preserve the excellent structure and original design while at the same time modernizing with new (and much needed) eneregy-saving measures. The home is now Carmel's only LEED Platinum designated project. We were lucky enough to be able to ask a few questions of design principal Mary Ann Schicketanz about the project.

1 Style | EKOPosted By:Celine
It was a delight to receive a sneak peek from the team at UK based EKO of the new SS/12 collection. A wonderfully photographed collection it is easy to visualize each piece as a simple staple for casual weekends. What struck me is how utterly comfortable the clothes look, in particular the skirts and dresses. Made using organic cotton, bamboo and cashmere you can clearly see the pieces were designed to flow and effortlessly contour your body. The new collection embraces an active yet relaxed lifestyle— I can picture myself in that grey skirt shown above with very little trouble!

29 Inspired | The BeekeeperPosted By:Celine
Bees are so interconnected with our food system and ecology it's hard not to be curious about them. To nurture and protect them feels as though you are guardians of something much bigger than yourself. Please watch and enjoy this special short film about Megan Paska— a Brooklyn based beekeeper, backyard farmer and educator; created by the talented team at Made by Hand.

We have a special treat for you today! When we shot Rachel Riordan's home for our current issue, we also shot a special little space called Sunday's Child (just across the street from Rachel's home), a hybrid vintage shop and maker studio run by Rachel and her partner/friend Jude. These shots are just too sweet not to share so we thought we'd offer up a special feature here on the blog! Enjoy Part 2!

23 Nature | Project YosemitePosted By:Celine
A stunning piece of work. It's an incredible playground we live in. Project Yosemite is a collaborative project by Sheldon Neill and Colin Delehanty who wanted to show Yosemite in an extreme way using timelapse photography. The results are breathtaking and it embodies everything I love: the great outdoors, camping, paddling and a few things I'd like to learn like rockclimbing. But more than anything this will leave you completely awestruck. The beauty is just something else... to appreciate the wonder of our planet is to fuel a desire to preserve it.
