It's been quiet around here, since, well, March. I have had my hands full getting to know Charlie, getting used to being a mother, fitting in hours of work into tiny snippets of time called naps, and, producing a new issue! The PGM team has been hard at work, and we just sent a new issue off to press yesterday! It will ship June 1—stay tuned, we'll be sharing the cover Monday! For now, here's a small inspired living post inspired by Charlie, our new baby girl. Read More

My days as of late are spent nurturing and loving little Charlie, mixed in with a good deal of hustle during her naps to finish producing our new issue, which is coming soon! While I do so, I am so grateful to share PGM columnist Jacqui's new post for her Kitchen Gardener column, this time celebrating her garden's plentiful purple broccoli. Enjoy and see you soon! Pure Green has found lots of new homes as of late, much to our delight! Among these wonderful shops that stock the magazine is Amelia, a delightful place in Oxford, MS. Walk over the threshold and you will be taken away by all the treasures tucked into every nook and cranny, from locally made wares to all the washi tape you could ever want; browse their selection of independent magazines, and find among them Pure Green! Hooray! If you live in the area, be sure to pop by and say hello to Amelia's wonderful proprietor, Erin, whom we thank from the bottom of our hearts for her support! Read More

At PGM we are so lucky to be able to work with photographers Joseph + Jaime on a regular basis. We have thus far featured two of their incredible vacations in Italy, including this trip to Puglia in our current issue, Wanderlust. Joseph + Jaime's photographs have a certain quality about them, they are luminescent, and I couldn't resist posting a few additional photos not seen in the printed edition. It is always a struggle choosing which photos to print, thank goodness for blog posts to share all the extra goodies. To read more about their trip and Puglia, scroll down for links to both our print and iPad editions, and in the meantime, enjoy these photos and moment of respite they afford you. Read More

The Pure Green blog had to go an a little hiatus, becuase, well, I had a baby! Jonathan and I welcomed our new baby girl, Charlie Aimée MacKay, on the 23rd of March, and we've been getting to know her (and fall hopelessly in love with her) since then! I am slowly easing back into the swing of things, and what better way to do that than with a new post that celebrates spring by the Kitchen Gardener, Jacqui! Read More

Wanderlust for iPad

Posted By:Celine
After the hustle and bustle of releasing Volume 5 in print, we got straight back to work on creating the iPad app for Volume 5, for all those readers out there who appreciate the portability and versatility of reading on your iPad. Working with the ever talented folks at Lackner//Buckingham on this follow-up issue to our iPad launch, Volume 4, again I'm so impressed with the final product. Read More

Inside Volume 4 we had the opportunity to be among the first to taste the spirits created by Dillon's Small Batch Distillers, a brand new craft distillery located in Ontario's Niagara region, a place well known to wine, beer and spirits enthusiasts around the world. The experience was delightful and it was clear from the start that Dillon's dedication to honest ingredients, meaning that transparency in their process is of paramount importance, is a recipe for instant success. We were smitten from the start by their committment to using natural, local and real ingredients and fragrant botanicals, mixed with sustainable practices and fabulous branding and design. Each bottle goes so far as to list exactly where the ingredients come from, a transparency sorely lacking in much of today's market. We highly suggest you read the full interview with distiller Geoff Dillon inside Volume 4 for the whole story on mastering a true craft. Read More
