Everything of beauty comes from the earth and returns to the earth. Humans can honor this by celebrating and respecting the earths gifts. I love the way this board celebrates the life of trees, and makes you pause to notice the beauty of wood. It makes the perfect serving piece for food made from natural things with loving hands. Thank you for mare minding us that most familiar of things are really magical This lovely board is the perfect serving piece for food we have grown or made lovingly with our handsu

Your products are beautiful; I especially admire you for donating a portion of the profits to the charity you founded. This month's issue of a Canadian design magazine suggested displaying cutting boards as works of art, and yours would definitely qualify! I live in Kitchener, and would love to visit your shop in person.
February 7, 2013 | Cathy
That is a thing of beauty! Living in British Columbia, surrounded by forests, I appreciate the natural beauty of this piece. It kind of reminds me of the medal podiums at the 2010 Games, which were made from a variety of trees, which were representative of the diversity of species found in Canadian forests. Every tree is a poem. You do lovely work.

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to our winner, Dave Sparrow, who was chosen at random using random.org. Thank you to all who entered!!
I am excited to share with you today a fun treat! A gorgeous giveaway from Living Wood Designs, a new PGM ad partner that we're very excited to have on board. The creators behind the wood studio, Anna & Andy, have very generously offered up this one of a kind black walnut charcuterie board with a live edge to one lucky PGM reader (valued at $98!!). You have one week to enter, simply leave a comment below, good luck!
Before you enter your name, however, take a moment to read a little more about Living Wood Design, and be sure to visit their website and Etsy shop to check out their other lovely, handmade wares.
"This particular charcuterie/serving board is made from a lovely piece of sustainably harvested black walnut wood. This board almost glows with the vibrant colour, live edge and unique grain pattern, and it has a wonderful smooth finish, after being hand sanded and given many coats of 100% pure organic tung oil.
We’re passionate about creating unique designs from local, sustainably harvested and reclaimed hard woods. Our handmade natural edge serving ware and rustic-modern furniture are all made in Canada. Every one of our original designs is hand crafted, carefully showcasing the wood’s natural beauty in the live edges, knot holes and the unique grain of each piece.
We apply pure, all-natural and food safe tung oil to each piece by hand, allowing the extraordinary natural grain to shine through.
At Living Wood Design, we give each piece of wood a new life through this organic process, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shape our designs. We know that each piece will have a long life in your home, serving a practical use for your needs while always standing on its own as a unique example of woodcraft & design.
We believe in giving back to those in need, and we donate a portion of each sale to scholarships for underpriveleged youth in Honduras, through the non-profit Healthy Villages. See more at Healthy Villages."
