Vintage | Sunday's Child Part 1

TEXT by Celine MacKay | PHOTOGRAPHS by We have a special treat for you today! When we shot Rachel Riordan's home for our current issue, we also shot a special little space called Sunday's Child (just across the street from Rachel's home), a hybrid vintage shop and maker studio run by Rachel and her partner/friend Jude. These shots are just too sweet not to share so we thought we'd offer up a special feature here on the blog! Enjoy!

A Vintage & Maker Studio, Part One

We have a special treat for you today! When we shot Rachel Riordan's home for our current issue, Volume 1 (in print - soon we'll share shots here on the blog or you can see it in our current issue, click here to subscribe or here to find out where to buy near you), we also shot a special little space called Sunday's Child (just across the street from Rachel's home), a hybrid vintage shop and maker studio run by Rachel and her partner/friend Jude. Originally we were saving this to print in our upcoming issue (coming in April), but Rachel recently shared news that life was getting a little too crazy and she and Jude had decided to close the studio doors in order to concentrate on their full-time vocations, illustrating for Rachel and decorating for Jude. (Rachel runs a great Etsy shop called Thrasher & Wren.) These shots are just too sweet not to share so we thought we'd offer up a special feature here on the blog as this is the last week Sunday's Child will be open. The studio is located in a tiny little Ontario town called Orono, which also happens to be a significant antiquing destination too! While you may no longer have the opportunity to visit Sunday's Child, you can still find a little inspiration in these photos, full of little vignettes and ideas on how to decorate with vintage/retro items. There were too many shots to share all in one go, so be sure to check back for part 2 later today!!
