As you can probably tell from my last post, warmer weather gives me a real taste for icy cocktails. Unfortunately, when it’s 2pm on Tuesday a boozy cocktail isn’t exactly the recipe for a successful finish to the day. So instead of pouring a cocktail, you can compromise with an icy treat that has the look and feel of a fancy cocktail, without the actual alcohol. Read More

Today I was inspired by this French home - restored and rustic, yet soothing and clean. Love the neutral palette which offsets the wood tones so nicely. Read More

I have admired this little shop for quite some time, wishing they were nearer so I could pop in on a very regular basis. So, it is with delight that I announce we just sent away a shipment of Volume 2 to Megan at Room 6! Hooray! It should arrive middle of next week, so be sure to pop by and pick up your copy (with lots of time to browse and pet their doggie too). Read More

Inspired | Dream Hatcher

Posted By:Celine
I love how this little dwelling is at once futuristic, whimsical and primitive. Such an interesting combination, but surely a spot to spark the imagination. And what a story to go with it! You MUST visit the site to read the full story, but here is the gist: A young man named Joel Allen (25) quits his life and starts over as a carpenter. After years of living in his car, learning his new trade and gaining incredible life experiences, he decides to build the tree house, which he names the HemLoft. He meets the girl of his (unknown) dreams and they take on the project together using $10,000 worth of free, upcycled material scrounged from Craigslist. Seriously, it's quite astounding. Read More

Inspiration | Foraging

Posted By:Celine
The last few weeks Jonathan and I have been harvesting the most lovely wild leeks. Foraging is something my eyes have recently been opened to, and it's wonderful. Once you know what to look for, it adds such a layer of fun to forest walks and it's wonderfully satisfying to eat! I'm going to try some interesting spruce jelly next. So far mushroom foraging hasn't been very fruitful! Have you every foraged? I would love to hear tales of what you've collected! Read More

If you live in the northeastern part of the States like I do, the end of May always brings with it the first feelings that summer’s on its way. Even though the start of the season doesn’t officially roll around until June, in late May the days are already long and you can catch your first whiffs of barbecue. If you’re anything like me, the warmer weather also gets you dreaming up yummy cocktails to sip on as the sun goes down. I’m a sucker for herb-infused concoctions poured over lots of ice. Read More

One of my favourite elements in Vol.2 was our Backyard Chicken feature - there's just something about those little guys that I love. Also on location, however, were the most adorable little guys... goats! Although we couldn't include them in our chicken article, we still thought it would be fun to introduce you. Have a look see!
